Motherhood Center: Stories of Depression & Anxiety during Pregnancy & Postpartum

Elizabeth Masucci experienced depression & anxiety during her pregnancy. After weeks of panic attacks and dark thoughts, she called Postpartum Support International for help. They directed her to The Motherhood Center in NY where she got the support and help she needed. She is now on the other side of it. Elizabeth will have a conversation with Paige Bellenbaum LMSW, the Founding Director of The Motherhood Center about her experience there and what they do to help women going through Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders (PMADs.) “What soothes the mother who hears the child’s cry echoing down the hallway?” We are here to help.

Paige Bellenbaum, LMSW (Chief External Relations Officer) of The Motherhood Center in New York City) start us off with her experience with Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) and what prompted her to start TMC.

Elizabeth will talk about her experience with PMADs and explain how the day program at TMC supported her and helped her recover. Paige and Elizabeth will discuss the tools and therapies they use at the TMC and across the maternal mental health field.
