The Lowdown: Sex after baby

Let’s talk about sex!

Much of what we hear about sex in the peri- and post-natal periods has to do with "safety" and "positioning." However, there aren't many spaces where we can delve deep into our unique experiences, which include: feelings about our changing bodies, both lack of or increase in desire for our partners/others, physical exhaustion or pain, and giver-fatigue. Come join an interactive discussion to explore the science behind desire, identify the sexual challenges and opportunities associated with physical transformation, and leave with strategies for internal and relational reinvigoration.

Lia Avellino’s Bio:

Lia is a Columbia University trained relational therapist and the Director of Head and Heart at The Well, a science-backed ecosystem for wellness in the heart of NYC. She specializes in supporting individuals, couples and families navigate the unique challenges of modern life and love. Lia has facilitated support circles on sex, dating and the body at The Wing and is a source and contributing writer for Glamour's Sex and Relationship print and digital pieces. In the past, she managed President Obama's national project to reduce teen pregnancy, and became a sexual health expert and educator in 11 states across the nation.
